Generation III OMEGA and
INFINITY Image Tubes.
Other tube options including the ALPHA, GAMMA, and DELTA may be available to meet reduced budgets or for sales
involving export, so please call for a quote. The AN/AVS-9 M949 Aviation NVG's are manufactured to the highest quality standards and
meet all specifications of DO-275 with Class "B" filters. They feature
Gen III image intensifier tube technology available
from L-3.
The L-3 M949 INFINITY tube technology dramatically improves aviator NVG performance and offers the highest Resolution for optimum clarity and the highest Signal-to-Noise Ratio for low light conditions. The binocular viewing boasts large 25mm eyepieces to optimize depth perception with improved 40˚Degree FOV (Field of View). Other available options are Class "A" and Class "C" Leaky Green filters as well as L-3's thin-filmed OMEGA Gen III NVG's.
The M949 is based
on the military nomenclature AN/AVS-9 (ANVIS-9). Significant L-3 EOS design improvements
to the Aviator’s Night Vision Imaging System (ANVIS) increase situational
awareness, improve system performance and enhance ergonomic characteristics. The
M949 features binocular viewing for optimized depth perception and large 25mm
eyepieces that provides improved eye relief, accommodating operators wearing
eyeglasses.
These
NVG's are proudly made in the USA and qualify for the "Buy American"
requirements found in most government contracts.
There are multiple helmet mount options listed below.
Ergonomically designed interface controls that comprise of interpupillary and vertical/fore-aft/tilt adjustments for improved situational awareness and enhanced ergonomics, including interpupillary adjustments. Vertical, fore-aft, and tilt adjustments provide improved viewing of the entire system FOV (Field of View) of 40 degrees.
SHIPS WITH: Goggle, OPMAN, Soft Carrying Case, Low Profile Battery Pack, Clip-On Power Supply (COPS), Lens Cleaning Paper, Neck Cord, and Air Worthiness Log
Other
features include a clip-on power supply for pre-flight or dismounted operations along
with a LPPP (Low Profile Power Pack) that uses standard AA batteries and securely attaches to the flight
helmets. Lithium batteries will increase operational time.
With these primary and alternate battery
provisions plus aircraft power port, this triple redundancy provides a complete

Warrior Battery Pack,
Equivalent to the Low Profile Battery Pack, Adams Industries has developed a
more robust and versatile Air Ground Warrior Battery Pack which is water
resistant and accepts BOTH AA and 3V Lithium Batteries. The current LPBP (PN
268465) is not water resistant and only accepts AA Batteries. Try finding a LPBP
within your lifetime...and at a fair price. The AGWBP is the answer to this
problem.

Battery and Power Pack Assembly (Battery Pack) Information
(1) ANVIS Clip-On Power Source (P/N A3260911) has provided, as initial issue (one per ANVIS system), a new power source which is an additional authorized item of the ANVIS, per Change 2 of TM 11-5855-263-10. This power source, utilizing two AA alkaline batteries, allows users to operate the ANVIS without the need for the Aviator's helmet mount. This item will facilitate testing with the TS-4348, and will assist aircrew members during escape and evasion, (2) Batteries authorized for ANVIS are BA-5567/U lithium battery and (1.5 volt) AA alkaline battery, NSN 6135-00-985-7845. No other batteries (NiCad, Mercury, Carbon, any rechargeable, etc) are authorized for use with the ANVIS.
NOTE
AA lithium batteries (3.6 volts), NSN 6135-01-301-8776, are not authorized. (3) There is no authorized repair of the ANVIS battery pack and/or cap. (4) Battery packs marked with P/N 54490-5008900 and MFR-13567 function the same as "G3" battery packs. These battery packs will be tested the same as the G3 battery packs (The Low Battery Indicator) or LBI will blink during operation.

The following tube series defines L-3 EOS image intensifier tubes by categories based on Figure of Merit (FOM). FOM is determined by multiplying the image tube’s center resolution by its Signal/Noise ratio. The resulting values categorize image tubes, and ultimately system performance, into defined levels of performance which are set by the U.S. Department of State in dealing with a broad range of customers worldwide.
